Our Philosophy

Recognition and celebration fuel esteem, and esteem drives self-image and success. At Confident Acknowledgements, we feel that proudly and confidently acknowledging the unique roles we play in life serves to enhance self-esteem, ultimately driving fulfillment, satisfaction, and success.  Our Mission is to celebrate, promote, encourage and empower women by establishing an expectation of equality in activities and roles where females have been traditionally underrepresented.

Our Story

During the first year after I learned to ride a motorcycle, I must have answered the question “YOU ride a motorcycle?????” a thousand times!   And each time someone asked me, they seemed so surprised that I had to laugh.  Riding a motorcycle has a definite stigma attached to it, and has historically been a male-dominated activity.  So, when I responded, I used to go into a long story about how I had always wanted to ride, but never learned...and how more and more women are taking up riding... And it's a great hobby...

But over time, I gave up trying to change people’s minds and simply started responding emphatically "Oh Yeah... I Ride!!"

And that's where the idea for the first Confident Acknowledgements site began.  While riding has traditionally been a "boys" activity, more and more women are learning to ride and experiencing all of the joy and freedom it brings.  Oh Yeah... I Ride!! is dedicated to all of the ladies who have a passion for riding, and those who long to learn.  Our mission is to celebrate, promote, encourage and empower women, by establishing an expectation of equality in this activity where females have been traditionally underrepresented.  The idea is to get the message out that we DO ride!  And there's no better way to do it than to present a universal exclamation... "Oh Yeah... I Ride!!"

From that simple beginning, through discussion and collaboration, we realized that there is a much greater opportunity here.  Motorcycle riding is only one of many hobbies, careers and interests in which women are a minority.  Over time, Confident Acknowledgements will grow to include a whole family of sites, with each focused on a specific career, hobby, or interest, and each will be founded on the unifying proclamation “Oh Yeah… I ____!!”  That encouraging message is even reflected in our logo… look closely and you can see the Oh Yeah!

Confident Acknowledgements is not intended to make a political statement, nor to create any type of adversity between the women participating in any non-traditional activity and the men who have historically dominated these activities.  Our purpose is simply to start a grass roots movement which allows women to proudly and confidently acknowledge their participation in the pursuits they love, to foster a sense of community for women who engage in these pursuits, and to provide information and resources to encourage continued participation and growth of female representation in these pursuits.

Everyone associated with Confident Acknowledgements is committed to building a premier family of web sites targeting a wide range of careers, hobbies and interests for women.  We welcome your thoughts, suggestions and recommendations as we work together to build a brand that becomes universally recognized as the unifying symbol and premier resource for information and products which support, encourage and empower women who choose non-traditional paths.

Join the growing community of women who are choosing non-traditional paths in their careers, hobbies, and activities!  Visit any of our “Oh Yeah” sites as they are introduced to learn more about the resources available through each.
